Description

KANAKO means “the beauty of being a scholar” or “extreme beauty” in Japanese, it is also the first name of Tiffany Bouelle’s mother. Original work specially created by Tiffany for MUES Design, KANAKO is a graceful ballet of downstrokes and downstrokes which is part of a work inspired by Japanese “noren”, short canvas curtains often designed as a diptych and traditionally hung at the entrance to shops and houses in Japan.

Before being imaged by our studio, the work was painted by the artist in very large format, flat and on the ground, directly on the parquet floor of his Parisian studio, on six large juxtaposed sheets of A1 paper. Her bare feet directly in contact with her support, lulled by the creaks of her parquet floor, Tiffany Bouelle came to caress the paper with her flat brush to trace in blue acrylic paint a superb intertwining of graceful curves, both vegetal and feminine.
